1. Introduction
MoodBox ("we," "us," "our," or "the App") is a mobile application that lets you browse jokes, recipes, stories, wallpapers, and videos. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App interacts with, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using MoodBox, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. No Account, No Login
MoodBox does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier to use the App. There is no login screen anywhere in the App.
3. Information We Collect
Because there is no login, we do not know who you are. The only information the App sends to our servers is limited, anonymous, and not tied to your identity:
- Content interaction counts: when you open a post, we increment an anonymous "view" counter on that post. When you tap Save or Share, we increment an anonymous "save" or "share" counter on that post. These counters are aggregated per-post, not per-user — we cannot tell which specific device performed the action.
- Standard technical data: like any app or website that connects to the internet, our servers and our content delivery provider (Cloudinary, see below) automatically receive standard technical information with each request, such as your IP address, device/browser type, and request timestamps. This is standard server log data used only for security and reliability, and is not linked to a profile of you.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, and the App does not ask you for:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Photos, contacts, location, microphone, or camera data
- Payment or financial information
- Any government-issued identification
The App does not use advertising SDKs, third-party trackers, or sell any data to third parties, because there is no personal data of yours to sell.
5. Device Permissions
MoodBox may request the following permissions, used strictly for the purpose stated:
- Internet access — required to load content (jokes, recipes, stories, wallpapers, videos) from our servers.
- Photos / media (storage) access — requested only when you tap "Download" on a wallpaper, so the image can be saved into your device's photo gallery. We do not read, browse, or upload any other photos on your device.
You can review or revoke any permission at any time from your device's Settings app. Declining a permission only disables the specific feature that needs it (e.g. saving wallpapers) — the rest of the App continues to work normally.
6. Third-Party Services
MoodBox relies on the following third-party service to operate:
- Cloudinary — used to host and deliver images, wallpapers, and video thumbnails shown in the App. When the App loads an image, your device connects directly to Cloudinary's content delivery network, which may log standard technical data (such as IP address) as part of delivering that file. See Cloudinary's Privacy Policy for details on their practices.
- Google Play Services — the App is distributed via Google Play, which may collect its own standard operational data (e.g. install/crash diagnostics) governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not control these third parties' own data practices beyond what is described here, and we encourage you to review their policies if you have concerns.
7. How We Use Information
The limited, anonymous data described above is used only to:
- Show accurate view/popularity counts within the App and our admin dashboard
- Understand which categories of content are most popular, so we can publish more of what people enjoy
- Maintain the security, stability, and performance of our servers
8. Data Stored on Your Device
Your Favorites (posts you've bookmarked) are stored locally on your device only, using standard app-local storage. This information is never uploaded to our servers and is automatically deleted if you uninstall the App.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures (such as encrypted HTTPS connections) to protect data in transit between the App and our servers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
MoodBox is not directed at, or intentionally marketed to, children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and — consistent with the rest of this policy — the App does not collect personal information from anyone at all. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through means other than normal App use, please contact us so we can address it.
11. Data Retention
Anonymous, aggregated content-interaction counts (views/saves/shares) are retained indefinitely as they are not linked to any individual and pose no privacy risk. Standard server/technical logs are retained only as long as necessary for security and operational purposes, after which they are routinely deleted or anonymized further.
12. Your Choices
Because MoodBox does not create a profile of you, there is no personal account or personal data for you to access, correct, or delete through us. You always have full control over:
- Which device permissions you grant, via your device Settings
- Your locally-stored Favorites, which you can clear at any time from within the App, or by clearing the App's storage/uninstalling it
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
